Here at Art Paper Scissors, we absolutely love bringing a couples’ wedding theme to life. From save-the-dates to invitations to thank you cards and everything in between, Art Paper Scissors is a couple's one-stop-shop for all things wedding stationery.

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Bloomberg. Affected by the pandemic, they had two beautiful celebrations of love: the first in 2020 at Black Bear Lake, where they were legally wed in a “camp-wedding” themed event with their closest friends and family, and their formal celebration at Olde Mill Inn in May 2022. Both days were absolutely perfect, and we had the pleasure of designing TWO stunning invitation suites to fit both wedding days, complete with beautiful watercolor florals and blush accents.

Michele and Michael are sharing all of the details of their wedding days - read on and swoon over their stunning photos, captured by Kate at Off Beet Productions.

APS: Tell us about your wedding day. The date, place and any extra fun details you would like to share.

Michele: Our original wedding was scheduled for May 16, 2020. We got legally married at Black Bear Lake Day Camp in Millstone on September 12, 2020, where we had our close family and bridal party present. It was a very intimate and sweet micro-wedding. We had personalized M&M face masks and “Camp-Wedding” t-shirts made up for all our guests. The BBQ buffet was delicious, and the venue went above and beyond our expectations. We ended the day with an ice cream truck and a s’mores bonfire.

Our formal wedding was May 14, 2022 at Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge. We had an extra tiny little addition to our wedding ceremony this time around; our 6-month-old daughter, Lennox! Although she did not make it to the reception, she was by far the star of the ceremony. During the cocktail hour, we had different pictures throughout the spaces. There were photos from special moments of the two of us throughout our relationship, photos of our parents at their weddings and photos of our close loved ones who are no longer with us.

Shoes! We gifted all the bridesmaids and groomsmen a pair of personalized converse. We all wore the shoes on the day of the wedding. The men wore them throughout the whole day, including the ceremony, and the ladies changed into the sneakers after the ceremony. We had so much fun designing them!

APS: How do you remember that special day? Any great memory that stands out?

Michele: During our ceremony, we had a baby naming for our daughter. It was such a special moment for our little family.

Our band was out of this world. We had such an amazing time with them, especially when they performed Bruce Springsteen’s “Rosalita!”

APS: What is your favorite part about being married?

Michele: We love being able to focus on our family and continue to grow as individuals and as a family.

APS: Describe your wedding theme. Why did you choose this vibe?

Michele: Care-free, boho-chic, light and airy. We chose this theme because we felt that it best described our personalities. We did not want to stress so much on the details of the wedding, and just enjoy our time with our family and friends. With this in mind, it felt that the theme could be achieved in a minimal way.

APS: How did you decide on your wedding invitation design?

Michele: We went into our initial meeting with Lisa with absolutely no idea what we wanted. We knew we wanted to show off our personalities, but we weren’t sure how. She patiently went through different options of the designs and suites with us, and we finally landed on a beautiful design. We sent our original invitation the beginning of March 2020, so when we were preparing for our postponed wedding, we knew we wanted to create new invitations. When meeting with Lisa again for our second set of invitations, she suggested using many elements from our original design and just creating a different format, the second time going with a gorgeous tri-fold suite.

APS: What design element or feature was a “must have” for your wedding invitations?

Michele: We knew we wanted to show our sense of humor. We decided to utilize the RSVP cards for that. Everyone absolutely loved the RSVP options in both sets of invitations.

We also knew for the second set, we wanted to incorporate our daughter, which our guests thought was absolutely adorable.

APS: What advice do you have for other brides and grooms looking to incorporate their theme or personal elements into their wedding invitations?

Michele: Don’t be afraid to go for something out of the box! Invitations are a great first introduction to your creativity around the wedding planning process.
