Watercolor Beach Invites

Last year, right around this time we had the pleasure of doing a lovely yellow vintage inspired wedding suite for a young couple. Fast forward to today, we now have the pleasure of doing wedding invitations for the groom’s mother. How special right? It’s so much fun to work with families for multiple happy occasions!

When we met with Susan and Roger, they shared they were having a small beach ceremony, followed by an intimate reception at Brielle River House, a local riverfront venue. They wanted their invitations to be sweet and simple like their wedding, with a touch of the beach. And nothing screams simple – and pretty(might we add) more than watercolor!

They chose a single pocket enclosure with an ivory invitation bordered by, you guessed it, a gorgeous watercolor treatment in various hues of blue and kissed with a few sea shells in the corner.

The fonts were simple and feminine and in a bold navy.

Tucked in the back were 3 cards containing all the pertinent details of the special occasion: “The Details”, an invite to the “Ceremony” and the “Response” card. The Details and Response card were both on the ivory paper and bordered by the watercolor treatment, while the Ceremony card was acted as an accent and was printed in a gorgeous periwinkle blue.

Laura Wilder, a famous American writer oncewrote “it is the sweet simple things which are the real ones after all” and nothing is more real or sweet than the marriage of two loving people. Wishing Susan and Roger a life that is simple but absolutely significant! XOXO
