Navy and Gold Stacked Wedding Invite

"Now at last they were beginning chapter one of the great story one one on earth has ever read, which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before." – CS Lewis

What an absolutely perfect sentiment for two people about to begin their lives as husband and wife together. This quote was the inspiration to Danielle and Brian’s wedding invitations. It was a quote that resonated with them and one they wanted highlighted on their invites. Danielle & Brian were married on Sunday, September 27th and celebrated at Nanina’s in the Park – a Tuscan-style villa on a historical park.

They chose a stack format invitation in a rich navy, gold and champagne – making for a simple yet elegant invitation.

A double belly band of navy and gold paper held the layers together and was inscripted with the CS Lewis quote.

The first layer was the RSVP postcard printed on champagne pearlescent paper.

The next layer was the “Details” card printed on the gold pearlescent paper – complete with the directions and accommodation details

And last but not least was the invitation. Printed on a champagne pearlescent paper and layered on top a rich navy blue paper. The invitation was designed in a mix of an elegant script and simple all caps typeface.

We love the simple elegance of these invites. Danielle and Brian – thank you for trusting us with your vision. We wish you endless chapters full of love, adventure, and good stories. XOXO

Modern Elegant Letterpress

Wedding season has turned us into quite the busy bees but we love it because we get to meet so many special couples like Anne and Michael. They wed on August 15th at the Ashford Estate, a sophisticated country estate surrounded by acres of preserved farmlands complete with fountains, waterfalls, a floating gazebo, stone ruins, garden arbors and sprawling views. The grounds are truly breathtaking, making it a magical place to get married.

To fit this stunning venue, the couple went with a palette of a rich navy blue, lavender and white. This is one of those invitations we wish you could actually touch because there are so many details that would be better appreciated when felt. Of the first detail is the 2-color letterpress in the navy and lavender. The silhouette trees and the diamond-studded border created so much texture and provided a perfect contrast to the soft navy lace belly-band wrapped around the center of the invitation.

Enclosed in the back pocket was a lavender and white cymbidium orchid “Details and Accommodations” booklet which created a gorgeous feminine border to the bright white letterpress RSVP card in navy text.

This suite turned out to be one of season’s favorites so far! –Anne and Michael, thank you for the opportunity to work with you. We know that you’re wedding day will be remarkable! XOXO

Modern Nautical Stacked Invitations

If you grew up in NJ, you most likely visited the Liberty Science Center in State Liberty Park – Jersey City on a field trip. But have you returned as an adult? State Liberty Park has probably the best view of New York City. Situated right on the Hudson River, the park has a panoramic view of the Battery Park, 9/11 Tribute center area and Ellis Island. Aside from the Science Center, the park has biking trails, picnic areas and a two-mile promenade bordered by fantastic restaurants and well, you guessed, wedding venues.

Maritime Parc, one of two venues located in the park has two private event spaces and boasts the “Best Views of Manhattan” and we couldn’t agree more. The interior design is very clean and modern (our fave), so naturally when Madeline and Omar approached us to do their invites, we were elated.

They chose a classic nautical wedding palette of navy, white and gray, with a touch of soft pink. The design of the invitation however, was far from what you’d consider classic nautical. While it evoked a maritime feel, the design was far more contemporary.

The invitation was a flat invitation, mounted on a matte navy paper. Bordering the invitation details is a gray simple geometric lined pattern. The fonts chosen were primarily a collection of modern type faced fonts, with only a kiss of a script font always designed in the soft pink.

The “Details” and “RSVP” cards were stacked and nestled behind the invitation, bounded by a nautical rope inspired twine. We have to say it – the stacking formation makes it so much fun to open. Every layer has a fun new surprise!

Madeline and Omar, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your day! We hope your day is spectacular as the views of the city your guests will soon enjoy. XO

Contemporary and Elegant Navy Invitations

Eat, Drink and be Married! Jenn and Michael plan to do just that on the 12th of June and we could not be more excited for them! They chose The Grove in Cedar Grove, NJ for their venue and if you’ve never been there, it’s just gorgeous! It’s known for its luxurious banquet halls with thoughtfully designed contemporary décor, gorgeous architecture and grandiose amenities. For a venue with such elegance, it was important to Jenn and Michael that the invitations set for what is going to be a contemporary and elegant affair.

They chose a perfect palette of navy, silver and white. The landscape single pocket enclosure was on a gorgeous navy pearlescent paper. Once opened, the invitation was designed on the top with an elegant floral border. Their names designed in the center with very a feminine script font and balanced by a bold uppercase type face in both silver and navy.

The pocket contained both a white “The Details” booklet and a silver “RSVP” postcard. The RSVP card has “Ready to Dance the Night Away” or “Sorry Have to Sit This One Out” but we suspect most will not miss out on this wedding!

Jenn and Michael, it was an absolute pleasure working with you. We wish you the happiest wedding!
