APS Real Weddings: 1920's Boardwalk Empire Wedding

There are some wedding themes that blow guests away – planned to the last detail, the love, care and hard work can truly pay off when a couple incorporates a unique theme.

Real APS couple Melody and Angelo absolutely nailed their “1920’s Boardwalk Empire” theme, celebrated on the Asbury Park boardwalk. Their wedding was recently featured in New Jersey Bride – click here to check it out!

We worked together to bring their creativity and vision to life – 1920’s glamour and glitz with a twist. Photos below were magically captured by John Kotlowski at Inspire Me Imagery.

Bold, art deco graphics and metallic with Gatsby-era fonts shone brightly on their invitations, programs, escort cards and donation cards. Gleaming golds ruled this invitation suite.

Working with Melody and Angelo was the cat’s meow – we hope you both enjoyed your day! Wishing you lots of love in the next phase of your lives.

Plum and All that Glitters is Gold

These invites will most likely inspire you to put on our best high heels and get all gussied up!  You’ve been warned! And we would love nothing more than to get dressed up and party it up with Lauren, soon to be Moulds, because she is just one of the nicest people! She is actually dear friends with another APS favorite and past client, Leslie who we did some fun vacation and tropical inspired wedding suite for. Oh and they just passed their one year anniversary – HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!

When Lauren came to us to do her invites, we were elated and now we have been fortunate enough to design an entire wedding suite for her special day!

So the invites…the colors are EVERYthing. She chose a palette of plum, gold and champagne. The invitation was designed as a flat invitation on a champagne pearlescent paper and accented with another pearlescent paper in that gorgeous plum. The cascading collection of dots in hues of gold and champagne that frame the top of the invite is one of our favorite parts.

Wrapped around the invite is a double belly band of the pearlescent plum and gold glitter paper with Eat Drink and be Married in the center.

Tucked behind the invitation is the RSVP and Details booklet. The Details booklet has a thin diagonal pinstripe pattern that acts as a nice backdrop to the darker gold pearlescent paper of the RSVP card. The contrasting colors of the each layer of paper really allow the plum script to pop off the page.

This invitation suite is a little romantic, a little feminine with just the right amount of fun and their reception materials were no exception!

Thank you Lauren for allowing us to be a part of your day. We wish you and Justin the best day ever! XOXO

Navy and Gold Stacked Wedding Invite

"Now at last they were beginning chapter one of the great story one one on earth has ever read, which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before." – CS Lewis

What an absolutely perfect sentiment for two people about to begin their lives as husband and wife together. This quote was the inspiration to Danielle and Brian’s wedding invitations. It was a quote that resonated with them and one they wanted highlighted on their invites. Danielle & Brian were married on Sunday, September 27th and celebrated at Nanina’s in the Park – a Tuscan-style villa on a historical park.

They chose a stack format invitation in a rich navy, gold and champagne – making for a simple yet elegant invitation.

A double belly band of navy and gold paper held the layers together and was inscripted with the CS Lewis quote.

The first layer was the RSVP postcard printed on champagne pearlescent paper.

The next layer was the “Details” card printed on the gold pearlescent paper – complete with the directions and accommodation details

And last but not least was the invitation. Printed on a champagne pearlescent paper and layered on top a rich navy blue paper. The invitation was designed in a mix of an elegant script and simple all caps typeface.

We love the simple elegance of these invites. Danielle and Brian – thank you for trusting us with your vision. We wish you endless chapters full of love, adventure, and good stories. XOXO
