APS Real Weddings: 1920's Boardwalk Empire Wedding

There are some wedding themes that blow guests away – planned to the last detail, the love, care and hard work can truly pay off when a couple incorporates a unique theme.

Real APS couple Melody and Angelo absolutely nailed their “1920’s Boardwalk Empire” theme, celebrated on the Asbury Park boardwalk. Their wedding was recently featured in New Jersey Bride – click here to check it out!

We worked together to bring their creativity and vision to life – 1920’s glamour and glitz with a twist. Photos below were magically captured by John Kotlowski at Inspire Me Imagery.

Bold, art deco graphics and metallic with Gatsby-era fonts shone brightly on their invitations, programs, escort cards and donation cards. Gleaming golds ruled this invitation suite.

Working with Melody and Angelo was the cat’s meow – we hope you both enjoyed your day! Wishing you lots of love in the next phase of your lives.

Art Deco Black and Gold Invites

If you’re lucky enough to find your one true love, never let them go! Cara and Clay are one of those couples who feel “lucky in love” and it became the sentiment that accented their Art Deco inspired glitzy black and gold wedding invitations for their October 10th wedding.

Before we chat invitations, can we talk about their venue?! They are celebrating at Le Maison Rouge in Atlanta, GA. It’s “Atlanta’s own chunk of Montmartre in the form of a dazzling event space tucked in the back. The entire room is a seductive boudoir, with nearly every surface draped in rich red velvet.” The venue is swanky and simply gorgeous or should we say – C’est magnifique. With this type of venue we knew we had to create invitations full of swank, glamour and elegance.

To evoke the timeless glamour of their venue, the invitations are Art Deco inspired with classic geometric shapes, bold curves and strong vertical lines, and designed in a mix of black, gold and cream. They selected a flat invitation on a gorgeous pearlescent paper with a black shimmer backer paper. The stark contrast of the black, pearlescent and gold details creates a timeless sophisticated while the graphics and fonts provide beautiful vignettes of texture and style; like the invitation border. It is bordered with classic Art Deco graphics in gold and accentuated with stylish monostroke and all-caps fonts in black.

A double layered black and gold glittered paper belly band is wrapped around the invitation and the “Details” and “RSVP” sit nestled in the back. The Details card printed on pearlescent paper features a more feminine art deco pattern in gold – withgentle sweeping tapered lines. The RSVP card is printed on gold shimmer paper and designed with more classic black monostroke fonts.

We had a blast working on these invites – we could only imagine how much fun their guests will have. Cara and Clay we hope your day is absolutely unforgettable! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your day. XOXO
